Wave impact initiative

Wave Impact Initiative (WII) is a community-based organization founded in 2022 and rooted in Kesses, Eldoret, Kenya. We exist to unlock the potential of young people in high-poverty communities by equipping them with performing arts, digital skills, and civic leadership tools — transforming them from bystanders into architects of their own futures. Born from the streets and training grounds of Kesses, WII was built by young people who understood that real change doesn't come from outside a community — it comes from within. We use dance, movement, and creative expression as entry points to reach youth who have been excluded from mainstream systems, then connect them to economic opportunity, peer mentorship, and community leadership pathways. Since 2022, WII has directly impacted over 300 young people through structured programs including our Movement Lab, Digital Livelihoods Bootcamp, Youth Civic Leaders Track, and Peer Mentorship Network. Our work addresses multidimensional poverty at its roots — not just its symptoms. We are locally led, community rooted, and built to last.
